Only In The Netherlands...Pity!

Rotterdam is the 2nd largest city by population in the Netherlands, located in the province of South Holland in the west of the country. The city, which had a population of 584,046 on 1 January 2007, is the 6th largest metropolitan are in Europe, with a population of 6.7 million inhabitants. They are also home to the first "enviro" nightclub.

The world's first environmentally-friendly nightclub opened September 5, 2008 with the intent of luring eco-conscious clubbers. The nightclub named WATT is designed to save 30% on energy and carbon emissions while saving 50% on water and waste.

WATT has a dance floor that is lit by the dancing of the clubbers, recyclable drink cups and the toilets flush with rain water. The main showcase is the dance floor on which the disco lights become more dynamic the more the dancers move.

The designers promise you a "pee experience" when you use the washroom. As you flush you can watch the rain water from the roof travel through transparent pipes. Wow!! That's heady!!

Good Luck, WATT. May you be a sign of the times.
